COVID-19

All measures taken to guarantee safety as we physically meet together during the pandemic.

On Monday, March 21st, 2022, our Consistory voted to suspend the Safe Start Plan until further notice. This is based on data from the Kent County Health Department, CDC, and local school systems, and a thorough discussion of our Consistory.

First, we want to thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate the pandemic. The CDC has now issued new alerts similar to a stoplight (red, yellow, green).

Green means that all restrictions are lifted, yellow refers to consulting with your doctor on steps you should take to protect yourself, and red indicates going back to more safety measures such as social distancing, masks, and the like.

Currently, Kent County has been in the Green status for the last couple of months. To see the latest report, you can head to this link: https://www.accesskent.com/Health/covid-19-data.htm. It is updated almost daily with the latest data and notices.

This means the following at this point in regards to New Ground activities:

  • Masks are no longer required for our volunteers nor our children involved in youth and children’s ministries.
  • No temperature checks will be conducted.

We will continue to have sanitizing stations around the church, and we will also have a section in the worship center for those who still wish to be masked (although that section will shrink a little. We will also be reorganizing seating that will not be all socially distanced so seating isn’t restricted to just families only. This means you can sit next to other people again!

Of course, as Kent County updates its statuses as the year goes forward, we will continue to update you if there are any changes to our practices here at New Ground.
